Thursday, October 8, 2026 – B Day

 

Mrs. Castagnaro's swim classes will meet in the West Gym for swimming today.

The Garden Club is meeting after school today.

The student council will host its 7th-grade event, Color Wars, after school on Wednesday, October 28th.  Come join your classmates and teachers to compete in relay races and many other fun events. The winning group will have a bagel party!  The event is free, but a permission slip must be handed in by Wednesday, October 21st!

Spirit Club will be meeting today in the multi-purpose room with Ms. Pliszak and Ms. Robertson. If you were unable to attend last week, you are still welcome to join. 

 

Attention 6th and 7th graders! Cooking Club is BACK! Join the Cooking Club on October 20 at 2:50 in Room 509 to get permission slips, the Google Classroom code, and all the details you need to start cooking in November!

 

If you are interested in joining the Concession Stand Club, please see either Ms. Hilton in room 609, Mrs. Mulligan in room 312, or Mrs. Merlo in room 320.  You can also email us if you have any questions.  

 

Competitive Cheerleading tryout registration is NOW OPEN through Arbiter Sports!  Be part of an amazing team, compete against schools across Nassau County, make memories, and show your Daler pride!  Contact Mrs. Pietronigro for details!

 

Spirit Week is taking place this week, leading up to the HS Homecoming game on Friday.

  • Monday - Tie Dye Day
  • Tuesday - Neon and 80's Theme Day
  • Wednesday - Favorite Band/Music Star T-shirt Day
  • Thursday - Different Color Shirt by Grade:
    • 6th grade, purple
    • 7th grade- yellow
    • 8th grade- blue 
  • Friday- Wear Your Daler Gear!

Students who plan on attending the pep rally at the HS without an adult must have their school ID with them.

 

Some reminders for students who attend home games:

  • Students must sit in the stands to observe a game. 
  • Playing near and around the bleachers is not permitted.
  • Any student who leaves school grounds during a game cannot return. 
  • Support our team and set an example for visitors by cheering for ​the Dalers, not against the opponent.

 

ID Cards – By now, all students should have received an ID card. ID card checks have started. Students who do not have an ID card should fill out this form.

 

Yearbook – Any 8th grader interested in taking photos for the yearbook, please see Mrs. Sushko in room 322 during lunch or homeroom.

  • The 2026-2027 Howitt yearbook is currently available to pre-order for $60 at yearbookforever.com.  Order now before the price increases.

Continue to pay attention to the people around you. Include others. Be respectful in the hallways, the cafeteria, on the bus, and in your classrooms. You never know what kind of day someone else is having, and a small act of kindness can make a big difference.
